In the fall of 1983, the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee of the Alumni Association and then Director of Athletics, Darrell “Skip” Pound, met to discuss their mutual desire to honor the college’s finest athletes. At that meeting they formed a committee to create an Athletic Hall of Fame and coordinate its initialization with Lyndon’s first-ever Homecoming Weekend.
