Chris Brown '05 graduated cum laude from Lyndon State College with a degree in allied health science with an emphasis in physical education.   He received much recognition upon his graduation with the Rita L. Bole Award for Outstanding Students, the Arthur B. Elliot Honor Society, and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  Brown went on to earn a master's degree in education from Walden University in 2009.

As a student, he was a four- year starter and stand-out player on the men's basketball team, scoring over 1,400 points.  He was a member of the 2003-2004 team that achieved a school record of 12 wins in a row.  Brown and his teammates went on to play in the Conference final four all four years. They lost in the championship at the end of their epic '03-'04 season.

Brown was a team captain for three years and received numerous honors during his four seasons in a Hornet uniform.  These include:  The Michael Tessier Award ('01-'02); All Conference 1st Team '04-'05; Conference Player-of-the-Year Finalist ('04-'05); NAIA All American Scholar-Athlete ('03-'04, '04-'05); NAIA All American Honorable Mention ('05); NAIA Champion of Character Award ('05); LSC Athlete-of-the-Year, four-time LSC Scholar Athlete, four-time Conference Scholar Athlete.

In addition to all of these accolades, Brown averaged double-digit scoring all four years and during his final season, he averaged a double-double (22ppg & 10rpg).

He has been working as a physical education teacher since 2006 and is known for bringing great energy and enthusiasm to the classroom.  Brown is employed by the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union in Wilmington, Vt., and began his coaching career with the Twin Valley High School boys' basketball in 2007.

Brown was named league Coach-of-the-Year in 2009 and his teams made two trips to the Barre Auditorium for final-four play in four years.  He puts a tremendous amount of effort into his coaching, always trying to learn more to be the best possible coach and assisting the next generation of players by opening the gym to allow local youth extra time to hone their basketball skills.

In the summer, Brown involves his team in community service activities and works at the Deerfield Valley basketball and soccer camps.  He and his wife, Jamie '05, reside in Wilmington, Vt., with their family.
