Men's Cross Country runner Joshua Grant '13 graduated magna cum laude from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2013.  After his four year stint at Lyndon, he had been decorated with numerous academic awards which included being named: four time Dudley Bell Male Outstanding Student-Athlete, three time Green & Gold Scholar Athlete, Natural Science Department Outstanding Senior, and a member of the Arthur B. Elliott Honor Society.  Josh furthered his formal education by earning his Master of Science in Entomology from the University of Georgia in 2017.

As a four time varsity cross country runner, Josh ran a plethora of steps…like hundreds of thousands, maybe.  He garnered All-Conference and Most Valuable Runner honors.  His freshman year he was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Year and Runner of the Year.  To cap off his athlete career at Lyndon, he was named the NAC Man of the Year ('12-'13) for his many accomplishments on and off the course.

On the course Josh was the NAC Champion in 2009 and runner up in 2010 and 2012 helping lead the team to NAC Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2012.  By finishing top 20 in the NCAA New England Championships, he secured his spot to compete in the Division III National Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., during his senior year.  By way of these efforts, Josh was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross County Coaches Association All-Academic Team.  During his career, Josh won a total of seven races and always finished within the top ten at NAC Championships.

What made the Lyndon experience for Josh were the unique, caring ,and engaging people he met while a student-athlete at Lyndon.  His fondest memories are centered around interactions with his peers, coaches, and professors...an afterhours study group for Geology, gentile conversation with teammates in the dining hall, founding the Track & Field club with friends, formulating game plans with former coach, Chris Ummer—just to name a few.

Josh has worked as an agricultural and natural resource agent for the University of Georgia since 2017, and is prepared for a possible Ph.D. in the future.  He is also focused on peak performance in the 2019 Boston Marathon.

Josh currently lives in Crisp Co, Ga., and is excited to be visiting his folks in New Hampshire and humbled to be visiting Lyndon once again.
