Women's soccer, basketball, and softball player Kelly Warren Sutton '09 was inducted by her father, Robert Warren. Kelly graduated from Lyndon State College with a degree in Exercise Science in May of 2009.
During her time at Lyndon, Kelly's love of sports landed her on the soccer, basketball, and softball teams. One sport, in particular, really struck a chord with her–soccer. Over her four-year term with the Lyndon women's soccer team, Kelly achieved a total of 164 points, which is an LSC record.
In 2005, Kelly was named the Sunrise Conference Offensive Player of the Week, USCAA National Player of the Week, All-Conference team member, Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Year, and ended the season with 27 goals, 13 assists, with a total of 67 points. She also was a member of the 2005 Sunrise Conference Championship team where she traveled to Ohio to participate in the USCAA Championship game.
In 2006, she was named to the USCAA All-American team and ended the season with 20 goals, 10 assists, and a total of 50 points. In 2007, she was named to the USCAA All-American team and ended the season with 11 goals, seven assists, and a total of 29 points.
At the beginning of the 2008 season, Kelly suffered with a broken foot, but was still able to finish the season with seven goals, four assists, and a total of 29 points.
During the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Kelly was named team captain and most valuable player.
During her sophomore year, Kelly was recruited to play women's basketball. In her first game, she netted 22 points and nine rebounds. This achievement earned her the USCAA National Player of the Week title. Kelly also played softball from 2005-2007, and was a member of the 2006 Sunrise Conference Championship team.
From 2009 to 2010, Kelly coached various teams at Lyndon Town School. In the fall, she coached seventh and eighth grade girls and seventh and eighth grade coed soccer. In the winter, she served as the seventh and eighth grade girls basketball coach. Finally, in the spring she coached a girls softball team.
Kelly is often found volunteering her time to various charities. She has volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina, Muscular Dystrophy Association of Eastern North Carolina, and the Walk MS-Greenville North Carolina Chapter. In 2012, she attended the St. Jude Warrior Dash. From 2015-2016, she volunteered with the Junior Women's Association of Pitt County, and from 2014-2017, she volunteered with the Young Professionals of Pitt County.
Since 2012, Kelly has worked as a precious metal buyer for Metallix Refining, Inc. She currently lives in Beaufort, South Carolina, with her husband Trevor.
