Vermont State University Lyndon

Peter Camp '03 was a standout on the basketball court as well as the classroom. As a student-teacher at Blue Mountain Union he stood out amongst his peers and was mature beyond his years in his ability to connect with students, classroom management skills, knowledge and willingness to improve.
 
His approach to teaching was exemplary.  He touched the lives of much kindergarten through high school students and staff with his friendly demeanor and cooperation.

Camp came to Lyndon in a difficult year. The coach who recruited him had left, and his first coach quit part way through the year dooming the Hornets to a losing season.  Teammate and fellow Lyndon Hall of Famer Jim Nelson recalls that Camp was the "Point guard," - the glue that held the team together. His effort resulted in the only Mayflower Conference basketball title Lyndon had ever won after such a trying season.

Camp did everything a coach would want, and everything a teammate would expect in leading that team to a conference title. He respected his teammates, coaches, officials, and fans. He knew what he could control on the court and he put all his focus on being the best player he could be.
