Michelle Wilcox '12 graduated from Lyndon State College with a degree in television studies/broadcast news in May of 2012. During her time at Lyndon, she participated as a three-sport athlete in women's basketball, softball, and soccer. In her final two years, she concentrated primarily on soccer which led to her earning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) honors.
Michelle was selected to the NAC All-Conference Second Team in 2010. In 2011, she achieved NAC All-Conference First Team honors, the first female-athlete in Lyndon's soccer program to do so since joining NAC in 2008. As team captain in 2011, she helped lead her team to their first home play-off match in the conference. She was recognized as the team's MVP Defensive player that year as well. In Michelle's senior year, she was recognized as a Green and Gold Scholar-Athlete and a Dudley Bell Outstanding Student-Athlete, and was named a NAC Woman of the Year nominee. She was recognized by her peers for her commitment to her education, community, and athletics and was selected as the 2012 Outstanding Graduating Senior by the Lyndon Alumni Council.
After graduation, Michelle became involved in her community by volunteering and coaching girls high school soccer programs. In 2013, she served for two years in the Peace Corps as an education volunteer in the country of Lesotho. During her service, she utilized athletics through the Grassroot Soccer program to support vulnerable children and to promote HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention in her district. She spent time coaching soccer through individual instruction to girls and orphans in her village.
Currently, Michelle lives in St. Albans, VT. She works in the mental health field as a behavior interventionist to support adolescents and youth. Michelle actively volunteers through community outreach and youth ministry opportunities provided by her church.
