After an Admissions Overnight program there was no need to even apply to another college – Kirsten Gallagher '92 knew that LSC was the place for her.

Kirsten entered LSC as an environmental studies major in the fall of 1988.  She later changed her major to therapeutic recreation and graduated from the program with a bachelor of science degree in 1992.

During her time here at LSC, Kirsten played one year of soccer, one year of softball and four years of basketball while still making the Dean’s List and being named to the Arthur B. Elliot Honor Society.  Basketball was certainly her true love.  While playing on the women’s basketball team, LSC won the Pine Manor Tournament in 1989 and the honor of Mayflower Conference Champions in 1990 and 1991.  Kirsten was named to the University of Maine Presque Isle All-Tournament Team in 1989.  In 1991, she was elected team captain and was named to the Mayflower All-Conference Team.

After graduating from LSC, Kirsten worked at a few places, one being the Chandler Senior Center where she earned an achievement award for her work with a therapeutic crisis intervention training program.  Currently, Kirsten works as the Director of Student Activities at ---------.  On the “off-time”, Kirsten volunteers much of her time to the Special Olympics coaching basketball and floor hockey, and also coaches seventh and eighth grade girls and boys.

Kirsten notes, “LSC helped to develop me into the person I am today.  It helped me to build my confidence and self esteem.  I look back on my days at Lyndon with great memories.  I would like to thank all the people that made my experience at LSC so wonderful!

Kirsten lives in North Carolina.
