To be eligible for induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame, an individual must have made an outstanding contribution to the intercollegiate athletic program at Lyndon, must have participated for at least two years in the intercollegiate program at the varsity level, and must have graduated more than five years ago.
Other criteria for membership include: achievement during undergraduate and postgraduate years, including participation or involvement in athletics; sportsmanship; character; and citizenship, as a student and in later life.
An individual may be inducted as an honorary member for contributing greatly to Lyndon athletics or to the field of athletics after graduation from Lyndon State College or Northern Vermont University-Lyndon. Â
ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME SELECTION CRITERIA
Minimum criteria for induction as a traditional member (must fulfill all four items below):
- Graduated from Lyndon Normal School, Lyndon Teachers College, Lyndon State College, or NVU-Lyndon.
- Participated in at least two (2) years as a Varsity Athlete while enrolled at Lyndon.
- Made an outstanding contribution to the intercollegiate athletic program at Lyndon.
- Graduated at least five (5) years prior to induction.
For consideration:
- Demonstrated an ongoing commitment to Lyndon and/or its athletic program.
- Consideration is also given to the individual’s professional/career achievements, community service, and citizenship.
Minimum criteria for induction (must fulfill at least one of the below listed items) as an Honorary Member:
- A person who has contributed greatly to Lyndon Athletics.
- An alumnus/a who has contributed greatly to the field of Athletics after graduation from Lyndon State College or NVU-Lyndon.Â
Honoring teams:Â
- Lyndon Varsity Team
- Brought outstanding distinction and honor to the college/university for their performance on and off the court/field.Â
- Significant achievements in community service.
