California Defender Gavin Rummler Commits to VTSU Lyndon Men's Soccer

Lyndonville, Vermont - Gavin Rummler (Victorville, California) of Hesperia High School in Hesperia, California has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University - Lyndon Men's Soccer Program for the Fall 2026 semester.  Rummler will major in History.

Rummler was a center back and fullback for the Scorpions.  A 2 year varsity performer for Hesperia, Rummler was named a 1st team all MRL league selection as a senior. During his career his team won the San Gorgonio Varsity Tournament, and finished as a runner up in the Premier Varsity Tournament.  He has also been an active member on the club circuit. He currently plays for Apple Valley Storm UPSL, and has been playing for various clubs for a total of 7 years.

Rummler is an exceptional student and boasts an impressive 3.2 GPA which has earned him multiple academic awards for excellence in the classroom while simultaneously competing in athletics. Besides soccer, he also competes as the #2 singles player on the Hesperia tennis team and is passionate about sports photography.

His high school coach spoke confidently about his ability to play at the collegiate level, "An exceptional defender in all aspects of the game.  Amazing defensive skill in 1-on-1 situations, aerial duels, zone defending as well as team defending.  Gavin's biggest strength is "NO FEAR", he has full confidence in anything and everything he attempts on the field. His anger is his fuel, has the ability to shutdown any player for the whole game.  Defensive work isn't his only strong suit. He has the full capability of going up as right back and creating opportunities for the team. Great with both feet, extremely coachable player and will always listen."

Head Coach Zach Blaser is excited to add Rummler to his back line "Gavin has a tall and prominent presence in the defense. His awareness and defensive spacing will be a great addition to the program this upcoming season."

Rummler joins Fisher Lajoie and Adrian Placencia Jr. in Lyndon's Fall 2026 recruiting class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commitments in the near future.
