NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Lyndon State College men's soccer team earned its first victory of the season with a 1-0 road victory over Mitchell College. 

Patrice Lumumba (Burlington, Vt.) scored the lone goal of the afternoon. The contest was close and hard-fought, but Lumumba's unassisted tally at the 23:34 mark of the first half was the deciding factor.

Lyndon goalkeeper Ian Oliver (Westport, Mass.) earned the win,collecting seven saves in the game. For Mitchell, Kevin Woodford made four saves for the Mariners, who held a slight advantage in shots (12-11) on the afternoon.
