Lyndon Men’s Soccer Gains Georgia Striker Eric Shorter

Lyndonville, VT - Eric Shorter (Kennesaw, GA) of North Cobb High School has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon's Men's Soccer Team for the fall 2026 semester. He plans to study exercise science.

Shorter was a one year Varsity performer for the Warriors. In his senior season, he scored 3 goals and added 4 assists in 400 minutes played, good enough to be tied for first on the team in assists and third on the team in goals. He also won the team's warrior award for his mentality and resilience throughout his career and the season.

On top of playing for North Cobb, Shorter played 5 years of club soccer for NASA Tophat. He also ran a year of Varsity Cross Country for the Warriors.

Shorter's High School Coach commended, "Eric Shorter was the 2026 recipient of our Warrior Award, given to a player that exemplifies what it means to be a warrior. Resilient, hard working, and determined, Eric typifies what a warrior should be. Regardless of the battle, he comes in with determination and puts forth his best effort. He has great instincts and a nose for goal, defying the odds time and time again."

Coach Zach Blaser believes Shorter can help the Hornets find the back of the net, "Eric is a driven player who when given the chance, is able to be a threat inside the box. He is able to play anywhere up top and is an exciting addition to the team for this upcoming season."

Shorter joins Fisher Lajoie, Adrian Placencia Jr., Gavin Rummler, Cayden Cowley, Evan Perez, Gavin Getz, Jett Burnett, Charles Ishiabwe, and Brooks White in Lyndon's Fall 2026 recruiting class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commitments in the near future.
