VTSU Lyndon men's basketball gets commitment from Florida guard Daniel Forde

Lyndonville, VT - Daniel Forde (Apopka, FL) of Legacy Charter School in Ocoee, FL, has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon men's basketball program for 2026-27.  Forde will study Business with an Entrepreneurial Leadership concentration.

Forde, a 6'4" guard, helped lead Legacy to a 19-9 season and the Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1 semi-finals in his senior season.  He averaged 6.8 points per game for the Eagles.  He also grabbed 3.2 rebounds and dished out 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 47% from the floor.  He was named Most Valuable Player at the Earl Graham Metro vs Florida Challenge.  In his junior year, Forde played for Altamonte Christian School in Altamonte Springs, FL, and was named his team's Defensive Player of the Year.

VTSU Lyndon men's basketball coach David Pasiak believes that Forde brings a different dimension to the Hornets.  "Daniel brings us some much needed wing length and athleticism.  He's a very good finisher at the rim and can be explosive in the open court.  He's also a very versatile high level defender.  Daniel has the potential to develop into an excellent player at our level.  He is just scratching the surface on his potential, and we are excited to see his continued development and growth."

Michael Gavin, who trained Forde and coached him on the travel basketball circuit, believes that Forde is one of the more under the radar players in the Orlando area and will become an impact player with the Hornets.  "Daniel brings a lot of versatility to the game with his athleticism, playmaking ability, defense, and scoring.  He impacts the game in multiple ways with his high motor and competitive mindset.  Daniel will be a strong presence on and off the court with his fun personality and leadership qualities."

Forde joins Connor van der Sommen (Sidney, NY) and Henri Emenau (Montreal, QC), and Jayden Deleon (Harpursville, NY) in Lyndon's Fall 2026 class.  The Hornets will be announcing additional commits in the near future.
