Vero Beach wing Andre Ferguson commits to Hornet men's basketball

Lyndonville, VT - Andre Ferguson (Vero Beach, FL) of Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, FL, has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon men's basketball program for 2026-27.  Ferguson will study Business with a Management concentration.

Ferguson, a 6'3" wing player, was the captain of a Vero Beach team that went 18-7 overall and reached the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 7A District 7 semi-finals.  The Fighting Indians were ranked #19 in Class 7A, the state's largest classification.  Ferguson averaged 7.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, and led the district with 1.3 blocked shots per game.  He played three varsity seasons at Vero Beach, after playing his freshman season at Saint Edward's School in Vero Beach.

Ferguson was also an excellent student at Vero Beach.  He was consistently on the A/B Honor Roll, took honors classes, and graduated with a 3.4 grade point average.

VTSU Lyndon men's basketball coach David Pasiak is excited about the versatility that Ferguson will bring to the Hornets.  "Andre's high school coach described him, very accurately, as a Swiss army knife.  He has the ability to guard multiple positions, and brings a physicality that allows him to be effective against a variety of different types of players.  He's a slasher who can finish at the rim, and a very good rebounder and shot blocker.  He's also a high character guy with a strong work ethic who will add to the culture of our program."

Vero Beach basketball coach James Dawson placed a high value on what Ferguson meant to his program.  "Andre is a hard worker on & off the court. He is a student-athlete in every sense of the word. Andre presence will be missed in our program, nevertheless, we are looking forward to watching him develop at Lyndon."

Forde joins Connor van der Sommen (Sidney, NY) and Henri Emenau (Montreal, QC), Jayden Deleon (Harpursville, NY) and Daniel Forde (Apopka, FL)  in Lyndon's Fall 2026 class.  The Hornets will be announcing additional commits in the near future.
