Lyndonville, VT - Henri Emenau (Montreal, QC) of The Phelps School in Malverne, PA, has deposited and committed to the Vermont State Unicersity Lyndon men's basketball program for 2026-27. Emenau will study Exercise Science with a Pre-Athletic Training concentration.
Emenau, a 6'2" guard, spent the past season playing as a post graduate at Phelps, a premier independent boarding school. He averaged four points, two rebounds, and one assist per game playing against some of the top postgrad prep school programs in the country. In 2024-25, Emenau averaged 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists playing for Oakville Basketball Prep in Oakville, ON. During his high school years in Montreal he played for Red Rush Academy, where he averaged 20 points, ten rebounds, and 10 assists per game and was team captain and team most valuable player.
Emenau earned an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Paul-Gérin-Lajoie-d'Outremont High School in Montreal. He completed multiple advanced placement courses and holds DELF French language certification. In addition to playing basketball, Emenau has also competed in judo. He earned a gold medal at Jeu De Montreal (The Montreal Games), Montreal's largest Olympic-style multi-sport competition. He also played competitive soccer for nine years.
VTSU Lyndon men's basketball coach Dave Pasiak believes that Emenau's prep experiences give him the foundation to succeed at the collegiate level. "Henri comes to us after playing in a very high level program at The Phelps School. He's a skilled guard who is passionate about basketball and hasn't shied away from challenging himself. Henri still has a lot of untapped potential and growth ahead of him, and I'm confident that he will work hard to become an outstanding player here at Lyndon."
Emenau's coach at Phelps, Trey Morin, echoed those sentiments. "Henri is a player that's filled with potential. His work ethic, both in and out of the classroom leads him on a path to being a productive college basketball player in the North Atlantic Conference. He improved tremendously through his postgraduate year and I don't see that trend stopping."
Emenau joins Connor van der Sommen (Sidney, NY) in Lyndon's Fall 2026 class. The Hornets will be announcing additional commits in the near future.
