Lyndonville, VT - Olivia Morris (Tularosa, NM) of Alamogordo High School in New Mexico, has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon women's soccer team for the Fall 2026 Semester. She will study criminal justice.
Morris was a four-year varsity starter for Alamogordo, with experience playing striker as well as centerback and defensive midfielder. Throughout the course of her career, Morris was an offensive force for the Tigers, scoring 28 goals. Her performance earned her two All District 2nd team awards in 2023 and 2024, as well as an All District Honorable Mention in 2025. She was also named the team's Offensive Player of the year in 2025. Morris also plays club soccer for Alamo FC United.
In addition to playing soccer, Morris has been a great student, earning honors recognition in both science and math. She also has been a member of varsity track for five years and varsity powerlifting for two years. She has been a very active member of Alamogordo athletics, being named for the All Round Tiger Award in her senior year. She also helps coach a youth soccer team.
VTSU Lyndon women's soccer coach Zach Blaser is confident that Morris can be an offensive spark. "Olivia is a highly clinical player, having a goal contribution every other game. She has a great understanding of the game and has the ability to make an immediate impact for the team for this upcoming season."
Alamogordo Head Coach Hailey Drefs spoke highly about Morris. "Throughout Olivia's time at Alamogordo High School, she has exemplified true leadership, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. She leads by example with her work ethic, resilience, and positive attitude, consistently elevating the level of play around her. Whether she is organizing the defense, controlling the midfield, or creating opportunities in the attack, she has the rare ability to make a difference anywhere on the field. Her versatility, soccer IQ, and selfless team-first mentality have made her an invaluable part of the program."
Morris is the first commitment in Lyndon's Fall 2026 class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commitments soon.
