Lyndonville, VT - This past Sunday, Vermont State University Lyndon played host to one of many All In 5K runs held across the country to raise awareness and funds for Team IMPACT, a national organization which matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience. The Hornet baseball program, a partner with Team IMPACT, sponsored the run, which attracted over 50 runners, walkers, and rollers, and raised $680.
Over 1,400 members of the Team IMPACT community came together to participate in All In runs on campuses and in communities across the country. Thousands of participants walked, ran, and rolled in support of Team IMPACT, emphasizing the power of community and raising more than $160,000 along the way.
Riley Pinard
The Lyndon baseball program began their involvement with Team IMPACT last spring, when they became connected with then six year old Riley Pinard of Orleans, VT. Riley joined the Hornets for the 2026 season and has been a regular fixture at games and practices. Riley and his family and friends joined his Hornet teammates on the run.
Lyndon head baseball coach Cameron Curler was thrilled to host the run. "It was a great experience for Lyndon Baseball to support Riley's journey and Team Impact by helping raise awareness for an incredible organization that raised over $100,000 on October 25! Riley has been an important part of our team, and it was special to bring our team together with his friends and family in support of this meaningful cause. We're already looking forward to growing this event in 2027 and going even more All In!"
Team IMPACT was founded in 2011, when eight former college classmates and student-athletes came together in Boston to celebrate something at the core of their friendship: the power of team. On Mother's Day of 2011, this group of friends launched Team IMPACT by matching Ben, a nine-year-old battling cancer, with the St. Anselm's College men's hockey team. From those beginnings, Team IMPACT has grown into a national nonprofit organization, with regional offices across the United States.
