Lyndonville, VT - Taniya Davis (Colchester, VT) of Colchester High School in Colchester, VT, has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon volleyball program for the Fall 2026 semester. She will study Criminal Justice.
Davis, a right side hitter and setter, played three varsity seasons for Colchester. She was a 2nd Team Lake Division All-League selection as a senior after being named Honorable Mention as a junior. She also received Colchester's Captain's Award. In her senior year, Davis recorded 32 kills, 42 aces, four solo blocks, five assisted blocks, 39 digs, and 144 service receptions.
VTSU Lyndon head coach Paige Daley believes that Davis will be a key piece to the rebuilding Hornet program. "I am excited to be having Taniya joining us this upcoming season! I feel she will be a key part in our program as we continue to rebuild. I cannot wait to be able to see her on the court this coming fall with her knowledge of the sport, her court awareness and hard work ethic but also to watch her grow as an athlete in this next adventure in life."
Colchester head coach Rick Codling praised Davis for her work ethic and dedication. "Taniya is a hard worker. She is constantly working on improving her skills. She has become one of our the top servers with a career serving percentage of 91.06%. She wants to play! So much so that she will do whatever she can to improve her skills to be a contributor to the team. Always practicing and asking how to be better. I think she will be an asset to your team."
Davis is the first announced recruit in VTSU Lyndon's Fall 2026 class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commits in the near future.
