VTSU Lyndon announces its 2025-26 Men's Basketball Schedule

Lyndonville, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon has released its 2025-26 men's basketball schedule.  Lyndon will tip off the season at the annual Vermont Steate University Tip-Off Classic, hosted this year by Vermont State University Johnson.  The Hornets and host Badgers will be joined in the field by Vermont State University Randolph and Keystone College.

The 25-game regular season schedule features 18 North Atlantic Conference matchups.  This season all ten NAC institutions will play each other twice - once at home and once on the road.  Other conference members include Husson University, Lesley University, Maine Maritime Academy, the State University of New York at Cobleskill, the State University of New York at Delhi, Thomas College, the University of Maine at Farmington, the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and Vermont State University Johnson.  The top six teams in the regular season standings qualify for the NAC playoffs, with the NAC champion earning automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament..

Lyndon will compete in a pair of in-season tournaments.  In addition to the season opening Tip-Off Classic, the Hornets will travel to Florida to play in the annual Cruizin' Classic on December 19th and 21st.  The Hornets will square off against Saint Vincent College and Tufts University.  Saint Vincent is a member iof the President's Athletic Conference.  The Bearcats finished 20-6 a year ago and were runners up in the PAC.  Tufts plays in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.  The Jumbos were 22-6 last season and were ranked #16 in the country in the final D3hoops.com poll.

Another highlight of the schedule will be an exhibition game at the University of New Haven on November 22nd.  The Chargers are members of the Northeast Conference and are entering their first season as an NCAA Division I program.  The Hornets have faced a Division I opponent every season since 2009-10, except for the COVID-abbreviated 2020-21 season.

Non-conference games at the State University of New York at Canton and Elms College and at home against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts round out the schedule.

David Pasiak returns for his ninth season as Lyndon head coach, and his 27th overall as a collegiate head coach.  The Hornets finished 8-18 overall and 4-9 in conference play, good for third place in the NAC's West Division and a berth in the conference quarterfinals.  They will be seeking their fourth NAC playoff berth in the last five seasons.
