VTSU Lyndon head men's basketball coach David Pasiak directed the boys session, while Hornet women's assistant coach Saleena Porter directed the girls session. They were joined on the staff by former Hornet women's head coach Brennen Morton, men's graduate assistant coach Tyrese Harris, and several current and recently graduated college players from Lyndon and the Northeast Kingdom. Lyndon Athletic Hall of Famer Eric Berry and newly hired Hornet women's head coach Robin Andrea also spoke to the campers.
The camps featured instruction reinforced through daily skill sessions, live five on five and small sided play, and various skills competitions.
Porter, a director for the first time after several years on the staff, was extremely happy with how the camps went. "It was another successful year for both of our Hornets Basketball Camps. For the girls camp, we had a great staff made up of incoming and current women's basketball players. The week was filled with energy, growth, and a ton of basketball. The athletes were able to spend plenty of time working on individual skills, playing games, and developing relationships with their teammates and coaches. We had a ton of returning campers from the previous years, and a bunch of new faces as well. The improvement and growth each year is awesome to see. I had a great time being a part of both the women's and men's camps this year. I hope to see even more campers come out and participate in basketball camp next year. Thanks to all the parents, guardians and families that made it possible for their kids to come to camp! "
Pasiak, in his seventh year directing the camps, echoed Porter's sentiments. "Our players and our program really enjoy providing this opportunity to young people in the NEK and the surrounding area. The campers and the staff all did a great job, which resulted in two outstanding weeks of basketball. We thank all of the campers and their families for attending, and look forward to seeing everyone again next summer."
