Lyndonville, VT - Brothers Jaiden Cole (Rutland, VT) and Jorden Cole (Rutland, VT) have deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season. Jaiden Cole transfers to Lyndon from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, and was a 2024 graduate of Rutland High School in Rutland, VT. He will study Exercise Science. Jorden Cole comes to Lyndon from Proctor High School in Proctor, VT. He will study Communications.
Jaiden Cole, a 6'5" forward, played in 23 games for Onondaga as a freshman this past season. He made two starts and averaged 3.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 45.2% from the floor. He was a three-year varsity performer at Rutland, where he helped lead his team to three Southern Vermont League A Division championships. As a senior he averaged 15.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He was an honorable mention All-League selection and was named to the Vermotn Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game. He also played club basketball with Anaconda All-Stars and played two years of varsity football for Rutland.
VTSU Lyndon men's basketball coach David Pasiak is happy to add a frontcourt player with collegiate experience to his roster. "Jaiden brings a year of college experience to the table, as well as a versatile skill set and some length up front. He also has a championship pedigree, having played a significant role for one of the more successful high school programs in Vermont. He gives us another college ready guy who helps to address one of our biggest areas of need."
Joe Hulbert, who coached Jaiden Cole at Onondaga, added "Jaiden's best basketball is still yet to come! I'm excited to see him continue his career and unlock his potential under the guidance of Coach Pasiak. Best of luck to him and Lyndon Men's Basketball!"
Jorden Cole, a 6'2" wing, enjoyed a breakout senior season at Proctor after transferring from Rutland. As a senior he averaged 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game and was named a Southern Vermont League D Division 1st Team All-League selection. He was also selected to the VBCA Senior All-Star Game. Like his brother, he played club basketball with Anaconda All-Stars.
Pasiak believes that Jorden Cole will bring a physical dimension to his team. "Jorden has a solid build, good size, and can be a very physical player, both defensively and in getting to the basket and finishing. His game is a bit different from most of our other perimeter players, so in that sense he adds to the versatility of our team. I believe that as he adapts to the college level and continues to expand his game he can and will become a very solid player at our level."
Proctor varsity coach Jeremy Cole had these comments about Jorden. "Jorden came to Proctor High School for his senior year of schooling and has thrived more than any other school year academically and socially. He made an immediate impact on our basketball team as a leader and his skill level and reputation drew added attention from opponents which helped lighten the load and made life easier for the other four players out there with him. He is an above average ball handler and can be a tenacious rebounder. On defense he has the frame to be able to guard on the perimeter as well as strength to guard taller post players without fouling. When given a defensive assignment, he seemingly takes it personally almost to a fault as he doesn't want other players switching onto his assignment. He can finish around the rim with his left or right hand, and although he has a slow trigger, is accurate from beyond the arc."
The Coles join Jack Giarrusso (Greenville, NY), Jacob McPhail (Brooksville, FL), Aaric Luce (Le Roy, NY), Andrew Joncas (Danville, VT), and Jordan Thibodeaux (Columbus, GA), and Xavier Rainwater (Frisco, TX) in VTSU Lyndon's 2025-26 class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commits in the near future.
