Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon men's basketball player Wesley McIntyre (Troy, NY) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 14th, as announced by the conference office on Monday.  This is the second time that McIntyre has earned the honor, and the third time that a Lyndon player has been selected this season.  Gregory Gonyea Jr. (Dolgeville, NY) was last week's honoree, and McIntyre was the Co-Player of the week for the week ending November 9th.

In Lyndon's only game this week McIntyre erupted for 39 points, including the game winner with 1.3 seconds to go in overtime, lifting the Hornets to a 108-107 win over rival Vermont State University Johnson, the Hornets' third straight conference road win.  He added a team best six assists, five rebounds, and three steals, while shooting 52% from the floor and 75% from the free throw line.

McIntyre is currently averaging 28.0 points per game, tops in the North Atlantic Conference.  He is second nationally across all of NCAA Division III basketball, trailing only Joey Rameriz of Concordia University in Austin, TX, who is averaging 28.2 points per contest.

McIntyre and the Hornets will be traveling to Miami Gardens, FL, later this week to compete in the annual Cruizin Classic at Saint Thomas University.  Lyndon's first game will be on Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm, when they tip off against Saint Vincent College of Latrobe, PA.
