Nathan Moore opens Hornet men's cross country season with a solid outing at Maple Syrup Challenge

Randolph, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon junior Nathan Moore (Norwich, CT) opened the 2024 men's cross country season with a solid outing at the Silloway Maple Syrup Challenge on Saturday afternoon.  The third year harrier completed the 8K Vermont State University Randolph course in 34:40.09, finishing 35th in the field of 86 runners.  Lyndon did not post a team result.

Middlebury College captured team honors, outlasting Fitchburg State University.  The Panthers' Harry Griff took individual honors with a time of 28:11.00, just under seven seconds ahead of runner up Taban Manyok of Fitchburg State.

Lyndon head coach Chris Chichester was pleased with Moore's outing.  "Nate put on a gritty display on a tough course.  His training is coming along and we are hopeful to add some new teammates in the coming weeks for him to train with.  Overall, it was a successful day."

The Hornets will return to action at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Thomas College, on Saturday, September 28th.  The men's race is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.
