Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon cross country runner Nathan Moore (Norwich, CT) continued his season progress with a solid showing at today's Thomas College Terrier Invitational. Moore shaved 21 seconds off of his time on the same 6K course a year ago, crossing the finish line in 25:11.7. That was good for 16th place in the field of 38 runners. Ponce Saltysiak of Maine Maritime Academy captured individual honors and the Mariners took the team title as well.
VTSU Lyndon head coach Chris Chichester praised Moore while looking forward to expanding his roster. "Nate ran solo today putting in hard work on a twisty course that doesn't translate into great times. He beat his time from last year and I can't wait to for him to lead some new teammates on the flat, fast course in Norwich in 6 days."
Moore will have a quick turnaround, as the Hornets will compete at the Norwich Cadet Invitational next Friday afternoon. The men's race is scheduled to go off at 4:00 pm.
