Lyndonville, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon alumna Paige Daley, Class of 2022, has been named Head Volleyball Coach, succeeding Bill Reilly, who stepped down following the 2023 season.
Daley has been serving as Lyndon's Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach the past two seasons, and will continue ion that role as well. Â A multi-sport athlete as an undergraduate, Daley was a member of the 2019 Hornet volleyball team. Â She was a defensive specialist and played in 15 matches, starting 10 times, Â In addition to competing in volleyball, at various times Daley also competed in women's lacrosse, softball, tennis, and cross country.
Daley is anxious to get started and continue the rebuild of the Hornet program. Â "I am extremely grateful for this new chapter in my coaching career and I'm excited to be able to help this program grow. Â I look forward to working with the team, as I have a few familiar faces who knew me when I was getting my degrees here. Â Expectations are high but I believe I have a great group of girls willing to give me everything they got. Â It will also be nice to be back on the court since 2019, except this time as the head coach! "
VTSU Lyndon Athletic Director Chris Gilmore feels that Daley will continue the rebuild of Hornet volleyball. Â "it is exciting that Paige will take over the women's volleyball program. Â She will bring an new level of enthusiasm to the program and will work to increase the profile of the program. Â Paige has been a vital part of Lyndon athletics for several years and is the right choice for Lyndon Volleyball."
Daley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and an Associate of Science in Mountain Resort Management.  The Pleasant Valley, NY native is currently employed by Sport Thoma in East Burke, VT, where she handles bik and ski retail and rentals.
Daley will make her head coaching debut on August 31st, when the Hornets travel to Vermont State University Johnson for the annual Vermont Volleyball Classic. Â Lyndon will be looking to build on the 2023 campaign, which saw the Hornets snap a 106-match winless streak and pick up their first wins since 2017.
