Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon women's soccer player Karly Cordwell (Milan, NH) has been named to the 2023 North Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced on Thursday.
Cordwell, a senior global studies major, started 12 games in goal for the Hornets. She led all NAC keepers with 161 saves and 13.42 saves per game. She finished ninth and fourth in all of NCAA Division III soccer with those numbers. Cordwell recorded a career high 26 saves in Lyndon's NAC contest at the University of Maine at Farmington. Over her three seasons, Cordwell has recorded 452 saves in 42 games played.
Selection to the Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees have positively affected the soccer culture and meet day environment by clearly demonstrating sportsmanship and integrity beyond the rules and etiquette.
Cordwell is expected to graduate in December.
