Hornet women see four game unbeaten streak come to an end at Husson

Bangor, ME - The Northern Vermont University women's soccer team entered Saturday afternoon's North Atlantic Conference match at Husson University riding a four-game unbeaten streak.  Unfortunately for the Hornets, the host Eagles controlled play throughout and cruised to a 6-0 victory.  The loss leaves Lyndon at 5-8-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the NAC.  Husson improves to 4-10-1 and 3-2-1 in conference play.

Husson outshot Lyndon 36-1 for the match.  The Eagles scored three times in each half, with six different players finding the back of the net.  Meanwhile, the Hornets were unable to generate any offense.  Lyndon's Kelsey Holland (Pembroke, NH) had the only shot of the day in the 88th minute.  Lyndon goalkeepers Lauren Young (Danville, VT) and Victoria McCormack (East Lyme, CT) combined to make 13 saves while the Eagles' Sami Ireland was only call ed upon to make a single stop in posting the clean sheet.

The Hornets will close out the regular season on Tuesday at noon at UMaine-Farmington.  Lyndon will enter the contest tied with SUNY Canton for the final NAC playoff berth.  The Roos will face NVU-Johnson the same day.  NAC playoff pairings and game times will be released following the completion of all conference contests.
