Lyndonville, VT - Ella Renaud (Hardwick, VT) of Hazen Union in Hardwick, VT has deposited and committed to the Vermont State University Lyndon Women's Soccer program for the upcoming school year. Renaud plans to study Graphic Design.
Renaud played 4 years of Varsity Soccer for Hazen Union, playing both goalkeeper and midfielder throughout her career. During her senior year, the team went 11-2 and she had 9 shut-outs in goal. She was also named a Mountain League Honorable mention in both her senior and junior seasons. Additionally, Renaud played for the NEK Warriors club team.
Outside of soccer, Renaud was very successful in the classroom, being a part of both National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. She also played three years of varsity basketball, winning the division 3 state championship both her sophomore and senior seasons.
Renaud's coach had glowing praise for her, "Ella led her team this year with hustle, passion, energy and positivity in every practice and every game. She is vocal on and off the field, but never brings down her team. Ella was such an asset on the field and in the goal for us, but also as a teammate. She has everyone's back, is very coachable, and a true joy to be around!"
Coach Zach Blaser looks forward to adding Renaud to the team, "Ella is a versatile player, capable of playing in goal as anywhere in the midfield. She has good awareness on the field, capable of helping the team move into the offensive half or stop shots when needed. I am excited to have her on the team for this upcoming season and help rebuild the program."
Renaud joins Olivia Morris, Wahaila Granillo, Kailee Dohrman, and Phoebe Crocker in Vermont State University Lyndon Women's soccer recruiting class for this year. The Hornets expect to announce more commits in the near future.
