Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – The Lyndon State College men's soccer team ended its regular season with a double-overtime 0-0 draw at University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday.
The Hornets (2-13-1, 1-7-1 NAC) were outshot by the Beavers (5-9-3, 3-4-2 NAC), 31-14 but solid goaltending from Matt LaClair (Beekmantown, N.Y.) kept the Beavers off the scoring column. LaClair finished the game with 15 saves.
In the first overtime period, UMF was on the attack for the entire ten minutes with five total shots and did not surrender one in return.
The roles were reversed in the final overtime session. With six minutes remaining, the Hornets fired two shots, which resulted in a UMF save and then a block, and also had another scoring opportunity immediately following with a corner kick but the shot flew wide.
Chris Roberts and Matt Wilson split time for the Beavers during the shutout with Roberts saving a shot and Wilson stopping a pair.
