BANGOR, Maine – Pat McEwen tossed  three-hitter in the opener and Tim Nason allowed only four hits in the nightcap to lead Husson University to sweep of its North Atlantic Conference doubleheader Saturday at the John Winkin Sports Complex.

The Eagles won Game 1 by a score of 6-0, before taking Game 2 11-0. With the win Husson improves to 20-13 overall and 15-4 in the NAC while Lyndon falls to 9-15 overall and 9-13 in league play.

McEwen went the distance to get his third victory of the season. He faced three batters over the minimum while striking out six and walking none. Dylan Foster and Kyle Bishop had two hits each for the Eagles while Brandon Gendreau and Seth Freudenberger chipped a double each.

Ian Sackett (Lyndonville, Vt.) took the loss allowing three earned runs on nine hits while fanning three and walking one in five innings of work. Tyler Pelletier (St. Albans, Vt.) had two of Lyndon's three hits in the contest and Michael Cartularo (Lyndonville, Vt.) had the other.

Nason faced five batters over the minimum in Game 2 to walk off with his fifth win of the season against no losses. He struck out four and walked one in seven strong innings of work. Josh Gaudette went 2-for-3 with four runs-batted-in for the Eagles and teammate Andrew Curran had a pair of hits and drove in one.

Mason Brewer absorbed the loss for Lyndon allowing nine earned runs on nine hits while fanning five and walking none. Ian Murdock (Wilmington, Vt.), Richie Sweetman (Londonderry, N.H), Chris Sevigney (Lowell, Mass.) and Kevin Tufo (Colchester, Conn.) had one hit each for the Hornets.
