Box Score 2 LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Shane O'Donnell-Leach (Groton, Vt.) scattered nine hits
and fanned five to lead Lyndon to a 3-2 victory over Husson
University in Game 2 of a doubleheader held at Skip Pound
Field.
O'Donnell-Leach went the distance to get the win, allowing
two earned runs while walking only one. Husson starter Bill Bart
tossed a complete game as well allowing three runs – two
earned – on five hits while walking four. He did not strike
out a batter in the contest.
Zach Maerder (Woodsville, N.H.) had a two-run
single to lead the Hornets, while Ben Clark
(Brattleboro, N.H.), Jake Ainsworth (Fairfax,
Vt.), Robert Trucott (Lyndonville, Vt.) and
Korey Marsh (Essex, Vt.) chipped in one hit each.
Shawn Smith had three hits, including a triple, for Husson and the
tandem of Kyle Vanidestine and Cody Haverly-Johndro collected two
each.
The Eagles, behind three-hits from centerfielder Tom Crews, took
Game 1 by a score of 8-3. Chase Daniels had three hits for the
winners while Smith and Haverly-Johndro added two each. Clark had
two hits to lead Lyndon.
Nate Adams went six and one-third innings to get the victory,
allowing two earned runs on six hits while fanning seven and
walking two. Patrick Hilton (Lyndonville, Vt.)
took the loss for the Hornets, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits
while striking out five and walking two.
