Lyndonville, VT - Vermont State University Lyndon baseball players Nathan Bigelow (East Hampton, CT) and Eyon Tembreull (Vergennes, VT) have been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, as announced on Tuesday.
Bigelow earned Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year. He graduated last month with his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a 3.60 grade point average. The right handed pitcher made 11 appearances on the mound this season, with seven starts. He posted a 2-4 record with 32 strikeouts in 49.1 inning pitched. Bigelow made 29 starts and pitched 162.1 innings in his four-year Lyndon career, both third all-time in the modern Division III era. He made 37 total appearances over his career, winning seven games and striking out 119 batters.
Tembreull, a junior Exercise Science major in an Individualized Program of Study, has a 3.95 grade point average through his first two years. He played in and started 35 games this season, primarily at third base. Tembreull batted .292 with one home run, 12 extra base hits, and 29 runs batted in. He had 48 putouts and 38 assists in the field. Tembreull has played in 66 games over his first two seasons, batting .286 with 44 runs batted in.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The top Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 23rd.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
