Waterville, ME - The Vermont State University Lyndon men's tennis team was only able to capture four games total in their Empire 8 East Division match at Thomas College on Saturday afternoon.  With the 7-0 victory in their E8 opener, the host Terriers improved to 5-0 overall on the season.  The Hornets fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in E8 play.

Thomas took control of the match from the onset.  The Lyndon duo of David Gratton (Newport, VT) and Bryan Nazario (Little Elm, TX) fell 6-1, to Dominic Clifford and Camden Herrick at second doubles.  Thomas swept the other two doubles flights, 6-0.

Things didn't go any better for the Hornets in singles play.  In the first flight, Thai Nguyen of Thomas downed Lyndon's Wesley McIntyre (Troy, NY), 6-1, 6-0.  Herrick bested Nazario, 6-1, 6-0, in the third flight, and Calvin Cutler was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Parker Pierce (Woodstock, VT) in the fourth flight.  The Terriers took the other there flights without dropping a game.

Lyndon returns to action on Wednesday, April 8th, when they travel to Norwich University for a 3:00 pm Empire 8 match.
