Lyndonville, VT - The Vermont State University Lyndon men's soccer team has added two more incoming freshmen to its Fall 2025 recruiting class. Johan Songe (Manchester, NH) of Manchester Central High School in Manchester, NH, and Jean Keller Thelisma (Bismarck, ND) of Century High School in Bismarck, ND, have deposited and committed to the program. Songe will study Business with an Accounting concentration, while Thelisma will study Information Technology.
Songe played fullback for two varsity seasons in high school. He was a part of a Manchester team that advanced to the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 1 semi-finals in 2023. He also played two years of club soccer for Seacoast United Bedford.
VTSU Lyndon head coach Zach Blaser feels that Songe's combination of speed and skill will add to his team. ""Johan is a quick and technically gifted player. He has a good understanding of the game as well as excellent control of the ball when at his feet. He will be a great addition to the team this upcoming season."
Thelisma was a striker and center midfielder for Century as a senior, after playing his junior season at Leigh Senior High School in Leigh Acres, FL. In two varsity seasons he notched three goals and three assists. A native of Haiti, Thelisma was only in the United States for his final two years of high school.
Blaser believes that Thelisma will make an impact at the offensive end of the field. "I am excited to announce Jean to the soccer team. He is a dynamic midfielder and striker with a skill set and proven ability to impact the game in the midfield and up front. His addition helps bolster Lyndon's midfield and add's depth to our roster for the upcoming season."
Johan and Thelisma join Carter Johns (Lyndonville, VT), Isaiah Petty (New Castle, DE), Perceval Hess (Sandgate, VT), Joe Buchanan (McCordsville, IN), Ryan Blaze (Clinton, MA), and Alessandro Anzalone (Eagle, ID), Parker Pierce (Woodstock, VT), Jarred Flores (Rockport, TX), Ethan Cardenas (Tracy, CA), and Ben Spradlin (Albuquerque, NM) in Lyndon's Fall 2025 class. The Hornets expect to announce additional commitments in the near future.
