Lyndonville, VT - Four Vermont State University Lyndon baseball players have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday.
The student athletes honored include:
- Ryan Alt (Poultney, VT), a junior criminal justice major with a 3.51 grade point average. Alt, primarily a first baseman, batted .317 with six extra base hits and 17 runs batted in this season. He also made two starts on the mound and posted a .975 fielding percentage on 161 chances in the field.
- Nathan Bigelow (East Hampton, CT), a junior accounting major with a 3.59 GPA. Bigelow, a right handed pitcher, made eight starts on the mound and finished with a 3-3 record. He posted a 5.45 earned run average and struck out 30 batters in 39.2 innings pitched.
- Evan Duncan (Little Elm, TX), a sophomore exercise science major with a 3.79 GPA. Duncan started 33 games in center field for the Hornets. He batted .266 with a pair of home runs, ten extra base hits, and 12 runs batted in. He also stole 25 bases in 25 attempts and had 92 putouts and a .990 fielding percentage in the outfield.
- Jack Holley (San Gabriel, CA), a business administration major in the entrepreneurship concentration with a 3.70 GPA. Holley, a right handed pitcher, started six games and made 11 appearances on the mound. He recorded a team best 35 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched and notched two saves while posting a 5.66 ERA.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The top Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
