Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon sophomore Maachah Krull (Woodsville, NH) has been named to the North Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced on Thursday.
Krull, competing in her first full season, played first or second flight singles. She had a 2-8 record in singles play, picking up wins over Gabby Wardwell and Maggie Egan of Vermont State University Johnson. She also was part of Lyndon's first doubles team all season.
Selection to the Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees have positively affected the women's tennis culture and match environment by clearly demonstrating sportsmanship and integrity beyond the tennis playing rules and etiquette.
Krull and the Hornets completed their season this past Sunday. She is expected to return in 2024 and be one of the anchors of next year's team.
