Waterville, ME - Vermont State University Lyndon women's basketball player Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Novermber 12th, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Porter, a graduate student forward, was Lyndon's leading rebounder last week as the Hornets opened the season 3-0, including winning the championship of the annual Vermont State Tip-Off Classic. For the week, she averaged 7.3 points, 14 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in leading Lyndon to its strong start. She tied her career high with 16 rebounds in a Classic Championship Game win over Vermont State University Johnson.
Porter and the Hornets will look to continue their strong start when they travel to Middlebury College for a non-conference matchup this eveing. Game time has been pushed back to approximately 7:00 pm.
