Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Hornet women have little trouble with Lesley

Lexington, MA - In a solid road showing Saturday afternoon, the Vermont State University Lyndon women's basketball team earned a 67–46 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lesley University.  With the win, the Hornets improved to 11–6 overall and 6–4 in NAC play, while the Lynx dropped to 2–15 overall and 1–11 in conference action.

Lyndon set the tone early, controlling the pace and building a steady lead that grew throughout the contest. The Hornets outscored Lesley in three of the four quarters and stretched the margin to as many as 29 points in the fourth quarter, using balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure to stay in command.

Kadienne Whitcomb (West Burke, VT) led the Hornets with 15 points, knocking down five of 12 three-point attempts. Skylar Begay (Tucson, AZ) added 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) recorded eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds to anchor the Hornets on the glass.

Lesley was paced by Leila Chisholm, who scored a team-high 16 points, while Alawnah Dunda added 12 points and Madalynn Biagi chipped in 10.

The Hornets will be on the road again on Tuesday evening when they travel to Thomas College for another NAC matchup.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
