Waterville, ME - The Vermont State University Lyndon women's basketball team earned a 60–53 win over Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference play Tuesday night. The victory moved the Hornets to 12–6 overall and 7–4 in the NAC, while the Terriers dropped to 12-7 overall and 8-4 in conference action.
After a tightly contested opening quarter, Lyndon took command of the contest with a dominant 20-7 second stanza. Thomas was able to trim the lead to three points early in the fourth quarter, but the Hornets steadied things and held off the Terriers for the win.
Kiara Mack (Winooski, VT) led Lyndon with 23 points and added eight rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Skylar Begay (Tucson, AZ) finished with 14 points, while Kadienne Whitcomb (West Burke, VT) contributed 9 points on three three-point goals.
Elena Alderman was the only Terrier in double figures, finishing with 11 points.
Lyndon will return home on Friday evening to host the State University of New York at Delhi at 7:30 pm. It will be the first fo five straight games at Stannard Gymnasium.
