Box Score Stowe, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon was defeated, 9-0, by Colby-Sawyer College in Friday's non-conference men's tennis match at the Topnotch Tennis Center. The Chargers improve to 6-7 with the win, while the Hornets fall to 1-7 on the season.
Colby-Sawyer took control of the match from the outset. The Chargers swept all three doubles flights without dropping a game.
In dingles play, Colby-Sawyer's Alexander Edelman was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Lyndon's Jeffrey Blais (Newport, VT) at fourth singles. The Chargers' Cohl Schusler defeated the Hornets' Bobby Saba (Mansfield, MA), 6-1, 6-2, at fifth singles. In second singles, Lyndon's Quinlan Peer (Saranac Lake, NY) fell to Colby-Sawyer's Aidan Jensen, 6-0, 6-1, at second singles. The Chargers took the other three singles flights by 6-0, 6-0 margins.
The Hornets look to keep their North Atlantic Conference playoff hopes alive on Sunday afternoon when they return to Topnotch to host SUNY Delhi. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
