Waterville, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis team traveled to Thomas College for a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.  The match was played at the Alfond-Wales Tennis Center at Colby College.  Thomas swept all nine matches to come away with the win in their season opener.  The Hornets fall to 0-2 on the season.

Thomas started things off by taking all three doubles contests.  The Terrier duo of Lauren Smith and Kiara Goggin downed Lyndon's first doubles team of Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) and Rebekah Delgado (Jersey City, NJ), 8-2.  Thomas took second and third doubles without losing a game.

The Terriers dominated singles play as well.  Goggin picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Porter at first singles and Smith was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Deelgado in the second flight.  Lyndon wasn't able to win more than one game in any of the other four flights.

The Hornets are off until Wednesday, September 15th, when they host Plymouth State University in another non-conference match.
