Lyndonville, VT - North Atlantic Conference leading Simmons University had little trouble getting past Vermont State University Lyndon in both ends of Saturday's women's tennis doubleheader. The Sharks picked up a 7-0 win in the NAC matchup to remain unbeaten in four conference matches. They followed that up with a 6-0 non-conference win to move theri overall record to 12-1. Lyndon fell to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the NAC.
Match #1 - Simmons 7, VTSU Lyndon 0
The Sharks breezed to the win without dropping a game in any flight.
Match #2 - Simmons 6, VTSU Lynhdon 0
In the non-conference matchup,only singles matches were played. Lyndon's Megan Richardson (Essex Junction, VT) was defeated by Simmons' Grace Burke, 6-0, 6-3, at second singles. Richardson would be the only Hornet to take a game, as the Sharks cruised to wins in each of the other singles flights without dropping a game.
The Hornets will host Lesley University on Sunday at 11:00 am in the final home match of the season.
