Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis team ran into a buzz saw on Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 9-0 decision to North Atlantic Conference leading Husson University.  The Eagles improve to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in NAC play, while the Hornets remain winless in seven matches, including two conference contests.

Husson cruised to three wins in doubles play.  The Eagle third doubles duo of Marisa Brown and Lexi Thompson picked up an 8-1 win over Lyndon's Hailey Demers (Lyndon, VT) and Lexi Foley (Newburyport, MA).  Husson took the other two doubles matches without dropping a game.

Singles play probed to be more of the same.  Husson's Nicci Munroe posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lyndon's Rebekah Delgado (Jersey City, NJ) at second singles and the Eagles' Emily Doten was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over the Hornets' Saleena Porter (St. Johnsbury, VT) in first singles.  Husson rolled to 6-0, 6-0 wins in the other four flights.

The Hornets host their final home match of the season on Sunday when Thomas College visits in another NAC matchup.  The start time has been moved up to 11:30 am.
