Northfield, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's tennis team traveled to in-state rival Norwich University for a non-conference matchup inside Shapiro Fieldhouse on Thursday afternoon.  The host Cadets swept all nine matches to come away with the win and raise their record to 2-0 on the season.  With the loss the Hornets fall to 1-2.

Norwich jumped in front with three wins in doubles play.  The most competitive of the three matches was second doubles, where the Norwich team of Abbie Baker and Brandon Sichak downed the Lyndon duo of Quinlan Peer (Saranac Lake, NY) and Ken Niemann (AuSable Forks, NY), 8-4.

Norwich also cruised through the six singles matches.  At first singles Lyndon's Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, VT) fell to the Cadets' Alexi Gilmore, 6-1, 6-2.  At third singles Norwich's Matthias Tchantouridze defeated the Hornets' Zach Falkenberg (Bridgeport, NY) 6-1, 6-2.  The hosts also won the other four flights, with the Hornets not taking more than one game in any of the sets.

Lyndon returns to action on Saturday, April 17th, when they travel to Castleton University for another non-conference matchup.  Start time is 1:00 pm.
