Box Score Waterville, ME – Lyndon State College dropped a 9-0 decision to Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference men's tennis on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers improve to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in NAC play while the Hornets remain winless in ten matches, including five NAC contests.
In doubles action, Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, ME) and Zachary Disch (Waterville, ME) defeated Jake LaCerda (Gray, ME) and Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, VT) on the one line, 8-1. Ross Munn (Brunswick, ME) and Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, ME) took the No. 2 flight over Korey Steele (Jupiter, FL) and Gerald Fleming (Tampa, FL), 8-0. On the three line, Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, ME) and Christo Naranja (Fort Kent, ME) shutout Muktar Abdullahi (Mogadishu, Somalia) and Raymond Monroe (Cranston, RI) , 8-0.
The Terriers took all six victories in singles action with Chasse slipping past LaCerda, 6-0, 6-0 in ones. In No 2 singles, Munn downed Mulligan, 6-0, 6-1 while Disch won 6-0, 6-0 over Steele at three. In fours Waterhouse also silenced Fleming 6-0, 6-0 followed by a 6-0, 6-1 win for Payson over Abdullahi at five. Naranja rounded out singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Monroe in the sixth flight.
The Hornets will host Norwich University on Wednesday. Matches begin at 3:30 pm at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center. Thomas has completed its regular season and awaits learning its seeding and opponent in the NAC Championship Tournament.
