Husson steamrolls Hornet men

Bangor, ME - Husson University jumped out to a 21-2 advantage and never looked back, going on to defeat Lyndon State College, 113-49 in a North Atlantic Conference men's basketball contest on Friday evening.  Husson remains in first place in the NAC, improving to 16-5 overall and 13-2 in conference.  Lyndon falls to 2-19 on the season and 2-13 in the NAC.

DJ Bussey (Peoria, AZ) topped four double figure scorers for the Eagles, posting a game high 22 points on the strength of converting six of seven three-point attempts.  Justin Martin (Winslow, ME) chipped in 19 points, making five of seven from beyond the arc.  Gerald Fleming (Riverview, FL) was Lyndon's only double figure scorer, finishing with 12 points.  Jahleel Gabriel (Springfield, MA) pulled down a game high 11 rebounds.

Husson converted on 21 of 41 three-point attempts (51.2%) and 45 of 88 shots overall (51.1%).  The Hornets only found the mark on 19 of 60 shots (31.7%), including only six of 25 (24.0%) from distance.  The Eagles held a 50-38 rebounding advantage and handed out 25 assists compared to only 12 for Lyndon.  The Hornets turned the ball over 24 times, resulting in 33 Eagle points, while Husson turned it over only six times, resulting in eight Hornet points.

Lyndon continues its road trip on Saturday as they travel to Maine Maritime Academy for a 3:00 pm tip-off.  Husson hosts Johnson State College on Saturday.
