Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Lyndon State College faced off with Norwich University for the second time this season at Shapiro Field House, falling 9-0.
Ian Hyte and Dylan Ackerman took No. 1 doubles for the Cadets with an 8-1 win over Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.) and Jake LaCerda (Gray, Maine) while Jay Carter and Tyler Eagan had a little bit of trouble in No. 2 doubles as they recorded an 8-4 win over Michael Sigsbury (Pownal, Vt.) and Dylan Cherko (Manchester, Conn.). Sam Beiter and Hadley Ellis completed the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win over Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, Vt.) and Ken Niemann (Au Sable Forks, N.Y.).
Hyte grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hall in No. 1 singles but LaCerda made Ackerman work for his victory in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
Carter downed Sigbury 6-3, 6-4 in No. 3 singles while Eagan grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 4 singles over Cherko.
Beiter and Tim Birnbaum rounded out singles with wins over Mulligan (6-3, 6-2) and Niemann (6-0, 6-0) in No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Lyndon (0-6, 0-1 NAC) will host MCLA for a conference match at Collins Perley Sport and Fitness in St. Albans Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
Norwich (4-2, 0-0 GNAC) will host Johnson State on Wednesday, April 12 at 3 p.m.
