The Pilgrims wasted little time taking control of the game as Medvetz scored a man-down goal, assisted by Richard, just 52 seconds into the game. Two minutes later, NEC held a 3-0 lead following goals by Blanchette and Largay. A last-second goal by Richard put NEC up 6-0 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Pilgrims scored six goals in span of five minutes in what would prove to be a 10-goal quarter. NEC led 16-0 at halftime.

NEC's William Platt (San Francisco, Calif.) and William Aufranc (New London, N.H.) combined for five saves in the win. Lyndon's Marcus Bessette tallied 20 saves in the loss.
