Bangor, ME - Husson University jumped out to a 12-1 lead after one quarter of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse game against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon. The host Eagles cruised to a 22-5 victory and improved to 9-7 on the season and 4-4 in NAC play. Lyndon fell to 1-7 overall and 0-7 in conference.
Kolton Gillilian paced Husson with five goals on the afternoon. Gunner McAllister added two goals and five assists and Jordan Steeves chipped in two goals and two assists. 13 different Eagles scored in the game. Jacob Larochelle tallied 15 grund balls and won 20 of 31 face-offs.
Bodhi English (Livermore, CA) scored four goals for the Hornets. Elias Libby (Rockport, ME) had the other Lyndon goal. Libby also recorded a game high 19 ground balls and caused five turnovers.
Cohen Trnka and Odin Burk each played a half in goal for Husson. Trinka made three saves and earned the win, while Burk had four stops. Hornet goalie Matthew McGeehan (Milford, CT) made six saves.
Husson outshot Lyndon, 50-18, and had a 60-37 advantage in ground balls.
The Hornets will host the State University of New York at Canton this Wednesday in a game that was originally scheduled for April 8th. The game will be played at the Jay Peak Resort and begin at 3:00 pm.
