Jay, VT - The State University of New York at Canton controlled Tuesday's North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse matchup against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon from the onset, outshooting the Hornets, 38-7, on the way to a 16-0 victory. Canton improved to 6-9 overall and evened their conference record at 4-4. Lyndon fell to 1-8 on the season and 0-8 in the NAC.
Canton took a 12-0 lead into halftime, then cruised to the victory. 14 different Roos scored in the game. Nick Snyder and Alex Jacobs tallied twice, with 12 others notching a single goal. Meanwhile, the Hornets were only able to get off seven shots, with Aidan Trapani (Deltona, FL) the only Lyndon player to put a shot on goal.
Canton dominated in ground balls, 61-36, and faceoffs, winning 14 of 18. Jake Erskine was 4/5 at the X and recorded a game high nine ground balls. Devin Guerriero was 7/9 on faceoffs. Isaiah Terrill (Barre, VT) and Garrick Webster (Terryville, CT) each had seven ground balls for Lyndon.
Hayden Todd and Sam Servati shared the shutout in the Canton goal, with Todd playing the first half and Servati playing the second and making the only save of the game. Matthew McGeehan (Milford, CT) played the full game in goal for Lyndon and made ten saves.
