Box Score LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon State College women's tennis team dropped a North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division match-up with Colby-Sawyer College 9-0 Sunday afternoon at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center.
Ashley Woodside (Hampden, Maine) and Maddy Gemerek (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took the first flight of doubles for the Chargers 8-1 over Nichole Jones (Lisbon Falls, Maine) and Carina Alden (Monterey, Mass.) while Christine Hill (Wallingford, Conn.) and Lauren Blanchard (Agawam, Mass.) topped Roze Yar (Thailand) and Savannah Jackson (Barre, Vt.) 8-0 in the second flight. Lyndon was forced to forfeit the third flight, giving the Chargers the 3-0 lead after doubles.
The Chargers continued their strong play in singles matches as the first, second, and fourth flights were all taken by a score of 6-0, 6-0. The third and fifth flights went to the Chargers 6-1, 6-0 with the sixth flight being won on forfeit.
The Hornets fall to 0-9 on the season and 0-5 in the NEAC East and travel to Castleton on Wednesday.
The Chargers improve to 7-1 and 4-0 in the NEAC East and host MCLA Wednesday.
